General Data for : MEGIFLEX-B Coupling


The highly-flexible VULKAN-MEGIFLEX-B are torsionally flexible with an excellent multi-directional misalignment and have good electrical isolation and noise attenuation properties. The designs available permit the installation of the MEGIFLEX-B in various applications.

The flexible element with its axial and radial clamping feature offers a number of designs, e.g. Flange/Flange, Shaft/Shaft, Cardanic Shafts

MEGIFLEX-B Couplings are available in the torque range 10-3125 Nm.

With its two torsional stiffnesses/Sizes, an effective tuning of the installation's torisional vibration behavior may be achieved.

1) When selecting couplings the permanent output of the engine are to be take as a basis. Overloads, peak and short peak outputs acc. to DIN 6271 need no to be taken into consideration.

2) The stated values refer to the dynamic torsional stiffness at f=10HZ and & = 303K ( 30oC) and a test amplitude of 20% TKN.

3) With couplings subjected to high thermal loading we recommended to use 70% CTdyn - for a control calculation very important for applications with constant speed drives.

4) It is not sufficient to consider only permissible vibratory torque. In every case of the power loss loading must be checked and must be within permissible limits ( synthesis value)

5) The values of Pkv in the list of technical data are based on an ambient temperature of 30o C (303 K)
At an ambient temperature of 60o C (303 K)
Pkv60 = Pkv30 . 0,65
At an ambient temperature of 80o C (353 K)
Pkv80 = Pkv30 . 0,40

6) Due to the physical characteristics of the elastic elements tolerance are possible in the mentioned values.

7) The permissible angular and radial displacement depends on the speed. In the speed range upto n= 1500 rpm the a.m. displacement values are valid during the utilization of the nominal capacity. In case of speed exceeding 1500 rpm the displacement ability reduces by 30% each 1000 rpm speed increase.

Description

The VULKAN VULALINK can transmit torque in both directions. The rubber bushes allow deflections in axial, angular and radial directions. The VULALINK is free of backlash and free of maintenance as well as no coupling parts need lubrication. It is the best solution for train applications, if the inspection of the coupling should be adapted to the service interval of the transmission.
